I love retro music! Decade tunes from the 1920s and 1950s have such a cool quality and different sound than music today. When I listen to Buddy Holly's song "Oh Boy" I can't help but think of the old fashioned 50's clothes and dancing. I also like Ritchie Valens' "C'mon Let's Go", there's just a special nostalgic charm from music of the past. You kind of take a temporary time machine to that period when listening to the old hits. It feels like for a moment your dancing in two-tone wingtips and a poodle skirt or maybe even a flapper dress and a feather headband!
Although those time are long gone the style is still here. A musical group called Postmodern Jukebox transforms modern day hits into styles from all over music history. They took Britney Spear's hit "Toxic" and created a sassy 1930s style version and Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" was transformed from 2016 to 1929 with an entirely different but great Roaring Twenties sound. Even Katy Perry's song "I Kissed A Girl" took a vintage spin into the 1950s to make it even better to listen to! Check out a few of their covers for a modernized blast to the past!
