*Spoiler Alert!*
A few weeks ago I sat down with a can of Pillsbury frosting in one hand and the T.V. remote clutched in the other I knew that at I at least was making one good decision on how I spent my night. (And it wasn't the frosting.) Now I'm not the biggest fan of the Science Fiction genre which initially turned me away from this show in the first place, but I heard EVERYONE one talking about Stranger Things for weeks, so I decided I would watch it. Each episode is close to an hour long so you have to carve out that time in your day to fully sit through an episode. I tried coming back to one episode after a few days and just decided to re-watch the whole thing to make sure I got all the details.

As for the whole Science Fiction aspect of the show, I actually found it really interesting. It was really easy to get caught up in the story because of all the action going on. The show does feature a little bit of Horror with crazy monsters from the Upside Down and mysterious supernatural happenings. It was just the perfect amount of scary that I could watch it at night and still get a good sleep without being scared to shut my eyes. Although now I may take an extra moment to glance at any Christmas string lights this year (to make sure no demonic alien creatures jump out of my wall of course).

The characters and cast are golden. My favorite would probably be Eleven because she adds a whole new meaning to girl power. Millie Bobby Brown gives her character Eleven (Elle) such a strong presence with both powerful and sweet qualities. She is a truly impressive actress. The whole cast is well thought out and it just feels natural watching them onscreen.

Dustin, Lucas, and Mike make up a wildly entertaining bunch of friends in this search for their lost friend Will. Between their basement game nights, riding their bikes, and playing with walkies talkies, you can truly see the brotherly bond they all hold despite times of disagreement and difficult decisions along their journey. They share a relatable quality out to the audience of friendship and that coming of age aspect any great show needs.

I also really like the character development in Nancy. She transforms from this quiet and timid girl to someone who is stronger and sure of herself. She shot a gun, beat up some crazy creatures, went through the Upside Down, and more all in season one!

A lot of people have taken a stance on Nancy staying in a relationship with Steve at the end of season one. In my opinion I think she should've left him, but that's what happens in every classic teen love triangle; the nice girl dates the jerk guy instead of the sweet one who has been there for her. I wasn't surprised or shocked by Nancy ending up with Steve, but I feel that season two may show more of a development between Jonathan and Nancy's relationship as just friends, or at least that's what some fans are wanting to see. Overall I would recommend this show if you're looking for something new to watch. It took me about a week to finish season one since there were 8 episodes entirely. Now on to season 2 (which supposedly premiers in 2017)! Over and out!
