Recently I heard that Alicia Keys is trying to start a "fresh face revolution" and I'm happy to hear about it! It's not that I'm against makeup, because I absolutely love it, but it's refreshing to see a change in the world of beauty that doesn't require a new product. As I've said before I have very sensitive skin and wearing makeup is an entire game of hit or miss. But, if the makeup ends up being a dreaded miss I have to spend the next few days in discomfort as the reaction on my skin goes away. A lot of the time it's just more comfortable not to wear any cosmetics so I don't have to worry about the possibility of a bad reaction. This fresh face movement already has my name written all over it!

I like that Alicia is trying to make natural beauty more accepted in society's eyes. It's upsetting to acknowledge it, but there is definitely pressure to have to wear makeup especially being a girl. However, there are times when I want to wear make up. I wear makeup because it makes me feel just a bit more confident in myself. I wear makeup to shield some insecurities and on the flip side to enhance the thing things I like about my appearance. Simply said I wear makeup when I feel like it. There's no denying that I'm confident rocking a bold lip color and long eyelashes, but I do that because it's my choice. I never want to feel like I have to.

At the end of the day it's everyone's decision in how they express themselves, makeup is just one of the many ways to do so. I would think that this fresh face revolution could help the world recognize that it doesn't matter if you do or don't wear makeup. What really matters most is how you see yourself. So whatever you do make sure it's for YOU because YOU like it. Love yourself, respect yourself, and as always stay sparkly!
